Dr. Jeffrey Dunn is an optometrist at Chesapeake Eye Care and Laser Center with over 30 years of experience. He completed his B.S. in Biology at Florida State University and his doctorate in Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. He was honored to serve as the National President of the American Optometric Student Association while in his senior year.

Although Dr Dunn is a native of Washington, D.C., he began and spent most of his career in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. He gained experience and training while working with ophthalmologists, Drs. Peyton Neatrour, MD, and Vik Jain, MD, at Beach Eye Care, a growing clinic at the forefront of new technology in the developing fields of laser vision correction (LASIK, PRK, Corneal Cross-linking) and advanced cataract lens implants. His background has given him a wide array of specialties from pediatric vision disorders (strabismus and amblyopia) to the diagnosis and treatment of corneal and anterior segment disorders (Dry Eye Disease, Blepharitis, Keratoconus, infections, Injuries, Foreign Body Removal, Glaucoma, Specialty contact lenses, and more).

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Dunn has served as a speaker on topics such as dry eye, computer vision syndrome, and the medical model of optometry, and has been involved in the training of optometry students in their clinical externships. He is dedicated to staying at the forefront of advancements in eye care and sharing his knowledge with his patients through sincere compassion and communication that is clear and easy to understand.

Outside of the office, he enjoys stand-up comedy and stage theater. Although he taught cardio-kickboxing classes for 25 years, he now spends most of that time in his kitchen, remaking chocolate bars and cookies out of superfood ingredients.
